About
Abcde Pictures is an independent production company founded by writer, director and producer Jesse Harris. Named after the middle name of Jesse's late mother and pronounced Ab-si-dee, the company was created to develop bold, cinematic stories that entertain broad audiences while remaining grounded in authentic characters.
Our work spans feature films, commercials, branded entertainment and original series, united by a belief that strong storytelling and cinematic craft can exist alongside commercial appeal.
Founder Jesse Harris began his filmmaking career at 17, writing and directing his first feature instead of attending film school. The film secured U.S. theatrical distribution and later aired on HBO across Europe, launching a career that has since bridged independent filmmaking and global commercial directing.
Abcde's most recent feature, BORREGO, starring Lucy Hale, was released theatrically across the United States before reaching the Netflix Global Top 10. The film also reached the Top 3 on the iTunes Independent Movie Chart and earned a 94% Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score, with the Boston Herald calling it "a well-made and gripping crime thriller."
Alongside its narrative work, Abcde Pictures produces commercial films for leading global brands including Volvo, Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Disney, Samsung, GitHub and more, bringing the same cinematic approach to every project.
Beyond production, Jesse founded the National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY), now the world's largest youth film festival. His work has been recognized by Variety, which named him one of "25 Talents Who Transformed Youth Entertainment," City Arts Magazine's "Top 50 Culture Makers," and the World Economic Forum, where he was selected as a Global Shaper.
Today, Abcde Pictures is focused on developing its next slate of feature films while continuing to partner with brands seeking cinematic, story-driven work.
